Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a Martial Art that is
relatively new to Australia, but one that is fast growing for its
non-striking and defensive aspects. It is also a sport, which has
attracted a wide range of students from young to old and male to
female. It is a technical sport that requires skill, fitness,
strength and endurance, and has many benefits such as increasing
co-ordination, assertiveness, balance, mental focus, flexibility and
confidence. |

The Rednose Jiu Jitsu Academy has a
competition team that competes regularly in Sydney and Melbourne
under the Australian Federation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the NSW
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Federation. |

Exercises that help when fighting eg, push ups, sit ups
etc. |

20 minutes |
This sport requires good flexibility and stretching is
very important to avoid
injuries. |
| Technique |
20 minutes |
There are hundreds of attacking and defending moves, each
lesson a move will be taught in detail eg, locks, chocks, sweeps
etc. |
| Mat Time |
30 minutes |
Putting it all together: 30 minutes of non stop wrestling
- changing partners every 5 minutes and practicing all the
techniques you have
mastered. |
